3D Animation Post #8 - Fundamentals of Animation

Blog #8 - Fundamentals of Animation

For this class, we begun learning some of the fundamentals of animation that Disney has used for a while, especially when they created 2D animation. We specifically learned how to make a character or object look especially lively and fun through the "squash and stretch" method, a method that somewhat exaggerates the movements of characters and their physics with gravity and movement. This also helped us with showing audiences which move the character was about to make, like winding up far back for an even harder punch, or to launch into the sky. Overall, this class was not only inciteful, but quite entertaining when realizing how many of us natural exaggerated character movements due to years of watching cartoons and shows that utilize the squash and stretch method.
